The semi-finals have finished at Copenhagen Games where Sound Blaster CS:GO Challenge is taking place today. ESC Gaming faces SK Gaming in the grand final for a chance at 1,000€. The first semi-final saw ESC Gaming take on the Brazilians of TargetDown CS:S. Filip "Neo" Kubski's team started as terrorists, going up 3-2 in the beginning. The half was very back and forth from there on out, with TD jumping up to a 7-4 lead before losing three out of the four rounds to finish the half 8-7.
After switching sides, Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and company once again rallied, as they picked up the pistol round as counter-terrorists and went on a 6-0 run, 13-8 overall. TargetDown resisted for two more rounds, but ESC went on to win 9-2, 16-10 overall. In the other semi-final, SK Gaming was paired up with the British mousesports CS:S team. After over an hour of delays due to PC issues, the match finally got underway with SK winning the opening pistol round. The Swedes went up 11-0 before the Brits could answer.
mousesports won round twelve, but a retake in the B bombsite led by Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund scored yet another round for SK who went on to win 14-1. Despite of a slow start in the second half, SK claimed a 16-8 win in the end thanks to a one-on-two clutch by Johan "face" Klasson. The grand final is scheduled to begin very shortly with ESC going up against SK for a shot at 1,000€. The stream is available here. A third place decider will not be played. |
